As early as 1973 , I visited South America for the first and the second time when I was a teacher for a military course in September in Buenos Aires and later in the year in December with Harry Soderberg and Ingvar Lundstrom drew orientation maps there. The third visit was by my travel around the World 1977-1978 , then Chile and Brazil visited. Since then I have completed about 15 orientation trips to South America . All countries, except Peru, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana have been visited. The trips have contributed to that today there are 7 IOF countries - ARG , BRA, CHI , COL , ECU, URU and VEN - in South America. And WWOP have contributed to this development by sponsoring mapping in these 7 countries and in Paraguay. South America 's surface approximately twice as large as Europe .
